2019-2020
At the request of the OTA Honor Society project team of the OT Leaders and Legacies Society members, the board of the Leaders and Legacies Society initiated the process of forming an OT Leaders and Legacies' Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws were created and submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of State Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations by Kleinbard LLC. Bernie Kolodner in March 2019.
Board Members were drawn from OT L&L society members.
Each board member self-nominated the officer position(s) they were willing to hold.
Officers were elected via e-mail from a dual slate on all positions, except for Treasurer. Kathryn Eberhardt is Treasurer, as she is the Administrator of the OTA Honor Society and will handle all financials.
Members sent their ballot to the OT L&L Society administrator, at administrator@otleaders.org, who counted and reported the vote results. Note positions are staggered as outlined in the Bylaws. Board members can extend their position beyond the initial election and can hold two board positions.
Treasurer, Kathryn Eberhardt, established a checking and savings account and is now prepared to receive money from OTA Honor Society applicants and conduct other Society business.
The Board has established a calendar for meeting and met 3 times in 2020.
The Board has Articles of Incorporation, updated Bylaws, and have started establishing SOPs.
The OTL&LS Administrative Assistant continues to provide administrative support to the Foundation. Primary activities have included establishing a web domain and setting, creating a section of the OTLLS website for the Foundation, and creating a web page for the Foundation.
